Adopt a Family

Each holiday season, DLJ employees purchase gifts for foster children in our communities. This past year, 25 employees collaborated to adopt five local families.

We feel this is an important cause and one that is very meaningful for our team, especially as we work almost exclusively with families with children in the course of home financing.

Our team not only raises money for the gifts that are given, we also do all the shopping and have a great time wrapping the gifts. Although we don’t see the children who ultimately receive the gifts, we know that we’re helping bring smiles on Christmas morning.

“I had the chance to talk on the phone today with the Mother of Adopt a Family #3. She positively gushed about how incredible Christmas was for her and her son because of the wonderful, generous, thoughtful people who adopted her family and contributed so much to them. She cried when telling me about the look on her sons face when he opened his gifts on Christmas morning. She said they received everything they needed including the exact sizes of clothing that made it possible for her son to model everything on the spot! He was so happy he just couldn’t stop smiling! She also told me that since her son only had one pair of jeans that fit him he would have to wash them out in the sink every night, but now he has plenty of new jeans and shirts, a new coat that is especially nice in the chilly weather, and new flannel sheets to keep him warm in bed. There were many other gifts, including items for the Mother that she didn’t expect. For now, this Mother and son wanted me to pass on how beyond grateful they are for the kindness of strangers from the adopt a family program and how much the items they received were truly needed and appreciated.”

Race for the Cure

DLJ brings the Team to the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure event each Fall in Newport Beach, California. The race is one of the largest and most successful events in raising funds and awareness for breast cancer. We are looking forward to next year’s event!
